A rare and hard-to-find 1907 to 1910 Missouri Prestate License Plate #6891. This license plate is part of a group of early Missouri license plats that was pulled out of an attic in a home in Brentwood, Missouri. It is 100% real and authentic. We have not attempted to clean this license plate so that the buyer can determine the best path forward. The options would be to leave it in original "as-is" condition or to restore the license plate. It is dirty and has cobwebs per the picture!

The license plate is known as a "kit" license plate where the owner of the car would be assigned a number by the State of Missouri, in this cas, #6891, and they would put the license plate together themselves. Every nail (or rivet) is intact and the numbers are made of brass. This worked for the State of Missouri from 1907 to 1910. By 1911, when the State of Missouri started to officially issue "standard" license plates, around 15,000 of these pre-state license plate numbers had been assigned.
